The Brainforest team is implementing as many sustainable practices as we can at our studio and making positive changes in our behavior both at work, and at home. Our team has embraced the challenge wholeheartedly and we celebrate changes and successes every week.
Our most visible commitment to sustainability is our not-for-profit program

In addition, we have adopted the following studio changes to date:
- Membership in the Chicago Sustainable Business Alliance.
- Participation in our building’s recycling program.
- Changing to 30% recycled content printer paper.
- Installation of a kitchen faucet aerator.
- Junk mail elimination through 41.pounds.org.
- Using fsc certified, local printing resources as much as possible.
- Encouraging the use of reusable bags and coffee mugs.
- Supplying the studio with several “working bikes” for local errands/meetings.
- Serving clients local, organic snacks and drinks at meetings.
- Brewing only fair trade coffee.
- Changing to Green Maids cleaning service.
- Purchase of carbon offsets from Carbon Fund.
- Using biodegradable trash bags from Bio Group, Inc.
- Not allowing any printed samples to be sent from printers and other partners.
- Offering services to our clients to help them improve their sustainable business practices.
- Supporting all of our team members in pursuing individual community and charitable initiatives.
- Packing food as a team at the Chicago Food Depository several times per year.
Individual team members have:
- Begun to bring lunches in reusable To-Go Wear.
- Cancelled newspaper subscriptions.
- Begun to shop locally for produce at Chicago area farmer’s markets.
- Shown an interest in reducing beef consumption.
- Written articles and spoken on the importance of community service and sustainable practices.
